Reflexology Treatment

An increasing number of people are using reflexology to maintain their general health and well-being while boosting their energy levels and strengthening their immune system.

Before & During Treatment

Your first appointment will last approximately 1 1/4 hours. This will allow time to discuss your medical history, general lifestyle and identify any health concerns you may have. Any information you give me is completely confidential.

We will explain what reflexology is and what to expect after a session.

You will be asked to remove your shoes and socks and will sit back in a comfortable reclining chair.

The treatment will begin with a relaxing massage to the feet and legs. This is designed to relax your limbs and stimulate the circulation around your feet.

Many people fall asleep during the treatment and even those with ticklish feet are able to relax as the level of pressure is adapted to suit your comfort.

You may feel localised discomfort but this is usually minimal and does not last.

Subsequent sessions last approximately 50 minutes and always ends with a relaxing massage leaving you balanced and revitalised.

After Treatment

You should leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. Some people may feel weepy, emotional, tired or off-colour or find their sleep is disturbed. These reactions are normal and will generally stop after a few treatments.

Your body will naturally eliminate toxins that have been broken down during the treatment and you can help your body to achieve maximum benefit from this by:

  • Reducing your intake of tea, coffee, alcohol or other stimulants. This will help to prevent dehydration and the introduction of further toxins.
  • Drink plenty of water or herbal teas. This will help to hydrate your body, reduce headaches and flush out toxins.
  • Try resting as much as possible. This will help the balancing effects of the reflexology to work and will allow your body to focus on healing.
  • Avoid eating a heavy meal immediately after the treatment. Demands of digestion divert energy away from the healing process.
